Each year
the American Bar Association's
Section of Intellectual Property Law and BNA., invite
law schools around the country to participate in the annual
ABA/BNA Award for Excellence in the Study of Intellectual
Property Law. The intent of the project is to honor
superior academic performance and to encourage student interest
in the field of intellectual property law.
Law schools
may select up to three
(3) second or third-year students with the highest grade point
average or similar criteria in a basic intellectual property
law course. If the school has separate day and evening
programs, a separate set of awards will be offered for
each program.
Schools
may designate winner(s) on forms supplied.
Return the forms to mailto:books@bna.com.
Upon receipt of the reply, BNA will send the appropriate certificates
for presentation by the school, or will mail them directly
to the students. The list of participating law schools
is on this website as is the list of recent recipients
of the award.
The notice
to each student will also include a list of titles (ABA/BNA
treatises), from which the student may make one complimentary
selection. Students are encouraged to request books
from the web site.
Additional
information on resources for law students is available on
the Section's law student
web site.
